About

This page is describing Reapers way of "freezing" tracks.
For exporting audio, see: Render

What it is

In Reaper you can Render a track to freeze the audio on it.
This can be done to:

  • Free up CPU/Ram resources
  • Print synths/effects for sharing projects

When Rendering a track this way, Reaper Renders the audio to a new track

This is printed to audio:

  • All effects, with effect automation
  • All item fx, automation and fades

This is not printed to audio, but is copied to the new track:

  • Volume, pan, sends and corresponding automation

How to

  • Select the track(s) you want to freeze
  • Right-click > Render

(Choose among the various options)
